NPC Recruitment Scam: “Fake Email Message Being Sent”

The NPC Recruitment Scam is going viral on social media, which claims that new registration for the 2023 census is being conducted by the commission.

The National Population Commission‘s attention is drawn to the fake email messages that are being sent to some people, falsely claiming that their applications have been accepted.

The only ongoing recruitment from NPC is NPC Birth Registration, which has recently been opened to assist NPC/UNICEF with the registration of 12.7 million new births in 2023.

The fake email messages regarding the NPC recruitment scam have compelled the National Population Commission to issue a public notice across all their social media platforms.

NPC Public Notice:

“Our attention has been drawn to a fake email message being sent to some persons that their application for the position of Census Ad-hoc Staff has been accepted.

“The Commission wishes to inform the public that it is not undergoing any recruitment exercise for the Census at the moment. Kindly note that NPC has concluded recruitment of the functionaries for the 2023 Census before the exercise was postponed.

Should there be a need for the list of selected candidates to be updated in the future before the Census exercise, it will be announced on the national media and the NPC social media platforms and website.

We implore Nigerians to disregard the fake email message and avoid falling victim to swindlers.”
